farm equipment
leaning against the grain
highs of sixty-five
lows of about forty now
clouds, no rain.
heart pains developed as a sixteen-year-old girl
helped evermore, looking up to Heaven, mercy O King,
a daddy almost unaware
the glare of Life; repentance routinely taught
fighting want…
strife-in the mix
momma dying slowly. too early in the wake
nine emergency room visits in a year, oh dear!
stroking the pain again. doctors near know my name
as ambulance drivers stop by
as i sit; working. uniformed in personal tragedy.
walking away in a new direction, westward…hesitation in the valley
hold my hand here, honey, we can make the trip across the way.
married today! looking up beginning again, oh wow! whew!
never repeating the trip in a tornado of thought. battles up!
